Canuel Caterers was initiated 30 years ago by two entrepreneurial brothers with the ambitions of starting up a company that would rival other large, multi-national food service providers in Canada.

We are able to attract new clients while retaining our existing client base, such as our first account in the lower mainland, which after 30 years, we still retain today.

We have school accounts combined in the Lower Mainland and the Interior of British Columbia, in addition to multiple corporate accounts.

Supported by strong management, sales and operational team, we offer a variety of styles of breakfast, lunch and dinner service in these facilities, including meal programs for schools and seniors.


Overview:
We are seeking a motivated and experienced Shift Leader to join our team. As a Shift Leader, you will play a key role in ensuring the smooth operation of our cafe. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with strong leadership skills and a passion for delivering exceptional customer service.

We are currently hiring for our cafe located in the Poirier Sports and Leisure Centre in Coquitlam. We are a fully licensed establishement.


Responsibilities:


  • Oversee operations during assigned shifts, ensuring all tasks are completed efficiently and effectively
  • Take customer orders accurately and efficiently using the POS system
  • Prepare food items according to established recipes and quality standards
  • Handle cash transactions, including operating the cash register and providing accurate change
  • Assist with food preparation tasks, such assembling sandwiches, wraps and salads
  • Ensure compliance with food safety regulations and guidelines
  • Serving food and beverage items in accordance to all laws, and ensuring that all Food Safe rules are met.
  • Must ensure adherence to all provincial and federal rules, including Serving It Right.
  • Provide guidance and support to team members, promoting a positive work environment
  • Assist in training new employees on company policies, procedures, and standards
  • Monitor food quality and presentation to ensure consistency and customer satisfaction
  • Handle customer inquiries, complaints, and resolve any issues that may arise
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of the cafe, including the kitchen area
  • Collaborate with management to develop strategies for improving overall performance

Skills:


  • Previous experience in the food/hospitality industry is preferred
  • Strong customer service skills with the ability to handle challenging situations professionally
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Knowledge of kitchen operations and food handling procedures
  • Demonstrated leadership abilities with the ability to motivate and inspire a team
  • Strong organizational skills with attention to detail
  • Ability to work in a fastpaced environment and adapt to changing priorities
