About You

You have exceptional communications skills and are goal oriented with a focus on results for the customer. You pride yourself on being a team player with a high level of ethics and integrity. You always have a keen attention to detail. You have also been a Geoscientist in the field of Seismology, Oil & Gas or Mining related industry, and have prior experience with realtime local or regional seismic network data acquisition, management and analysis. You enjoy working with Seismology department sales, network deployments and best practices that can be leveraged to incorporate Seismic Monitoring Services turnkey solutions as a deliverable to traditional Seismology clients.

The Team

We are a Data Analysis / Geophysics Team working collaboratively with the Science and Development, Operations, and Sales teams. We are a high functioning team of passionate analysts that provide 24/7 stateoftheart monitoring solutions to customers around the globe striving to make our clients' lives better.

The Role:

Generate technical reports and presentations for clients. Present processing results and lead technical discussions with clients
Assist with the implementation and integration of new geophysical data processing techniques into client project workflows
Daily support / review of automaticallydetected seismic events for realtime seismic monitoring systems
Coordinate all aspects of the event QC/QA function including event QC metric, event review performance KPIs and any associated training and recommendations for the entire team of analysts
Processing and/or QCing of seismic events using internal Analyst toolkits, to assist in high workload periods and to gain a working insight into the tools, workflows and challenges inherent in complex seismicity monitoring projects and datasets
Support research projects including internal tool development and expansion to meet the Analyst team needs to aid in processing efficiency, quality and scalability
Provide continuous feedback on Nanometrics data analysis tools and processes to drive bug fixes, design changes and usability improvements

What You Bring:

Minimum BSc in Geophysics, Seismology, Physics or Engineering
35 years of experience in Geophysics, Seismology or related field
Prior experience with processing of mining seismic data sets
Prior experience with processing of surface and downhole microseismic data sets
Prior experience working with ground motion parameters such as PGA, PGV, and response spectra with respect to seismic hazard analysis and threshold monitoring
Prior experience with any of the following seismic data processing techniques: double difference relocation, velocity model building, STA/LTA triggering, template matching, beamforming, noisereduction filtering, event magnitude computation, focal mechanism/moment tensor inversion and stress field inversion
Prior experience with programming and/or scripting languages
