The Ministry of the Attorney General, Crown Law Office - Civil, requires two (2) counsel with demonstrated experience in litigation.


Counsel at the Crown Law Office - Civil provide legal representation to the Crown, its ministries, agencies, boards and commissions in a wide variety of matters involving issues of public importance in all levels of court.

What can I expect to do in this role?: You will work in a collegial, fast-paced, and dynamic environment conducting litigation work related to the_Civil Remedies Act, 2001._


Your duties will include:

  • Reviewing and analyzing materials connected to criminal investigations, including wiretap evidence, police communications, different types of confidential and privileged information, and financial transactions.
  • Providing written and oral legal advice on matters related to the_Civil Remedies Act, 2001._

How do I qualify?:


Mandatory:


  • Membership in good standing as a lawyer with the Law Society of Ontario

Knowledge and Skills:


  • Demonstrated judgment and analytical skills in a legal and professional setting
  • Proven written and oral communication skills
  • Proven and demonstrated trial experience
  • Ability to work collaboratively and effectively with large teams while carrying your own files
  • Ability to work to strict deadlines while managing a full caseload
  • Experience working constructively on teams of diverse members and demonstrated commitment to Ontario Public Service priorities relating to diversity and inclusion
