Base Salary Range:
$50k - $60k Annual Salary, depending on experience and qualifications.

The Fleet Performance Specialist will play an important role in the management of the operations and maintenance
of the fleet of solar PV systems managed under the VCT portfolio. This will involve client engagement,
communications, and reporting, positive relationship development with suppliers for warranty and ongoing support
and ensuring healthy and safe working environments.

This position involves working out of our Kitchener office under the direction of the Engineering Manager, and in
collaboration with the Business Development, Project Development and Finance departments at VCT.

SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE**:

  • Analyze system production and failures to inform future designs and enhancements.
  • Undertake special projects to explore system modifications for enhanced performance.
  • Ensure timely and accurate solar project portfolio performance analysis and reporting.
  • Develop and implement maintenance plans for performance and reliability.
  • Support O&M field team in troubleshooting inverter, panel, power electronics and controls problems.
  • Maintain positive relationship with suppliers and service providers for warranty and ongoing support.
  • Support healthy and safe working environment.
  • Produce documented processes and workflows, and adherence to these processes.
  • Engage with existing customers, listening for needs, identifying additional business opportunities.

REQUIRED TO APPLY:

  • Bachelor's degree, Diploma, or equivalent work experience.
  • Direct experience in the solar industry, particularly in operations and maintenance.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication.
  • Canadian driving license with clean record.
  • Ability to safely lift and carry 50lbs.

YOU'LL PROBABLY ALSO NEED THIS TO GET THE JOB:

  • Solar system design, performance analysis, and troubleshooting.
  • Experience scheduling and assigning tasks to field team personnel.
  • Ability to identify problems and develop multiple creative alternatives for problem resolution.
  • Able to work independently with tight timelines in a fastpaced environment.
  • Demonstrated attention to detail, customer care and superior quality of work.
ADDITIONAL SKILLS, ABILITIES AND QUALIFICATIONS THAT WOULD BE AN ASSET:

  • Experience in managing technical projects, especially those involving network communications or system
controls, would be beneficial.

  • Familiarity with renewable energy systems and/or electrical systems.
  • Experience in leading and training teams, particularly field teams in a technical environment.
  • Forklift, first aid/CPR, and working at heights certification.
  • Experience in complementary technologies to solar power (battery and energy storage, heat pumps,
electric vehicle integration and/or fleet electrification, etc.)
