    Description

    HMSHost is seeking a dynamic and strategic Senior Director of Operations to lead our food and beverage operations at Montréal-Trudeau International Airport (YUL). This is a high-visibility leadership role overseeing a $46M portfolio consisting of 15 diverse food & beverage outlets and an on-site warehouse within a fast-paced, unionized environment.

    The Senior Director of Operations is responsible for the strategic direction, planning, and management of a multi-concept portfolio. This role requires a sophisticated leader capable of navigating complex business dynamics, including union involvement, landlord relations, DBE subtenants, and joint ventures. Reporting directly to the SVP, Regional Operations, you will be accountable for the total financial performance, operational excellence, and long-term partner relationships of the YUL hub.

    Total Compensation & Rewards

    • Base Salary: $129,200 - $171,916 per year
    • Performance Incentive: Annual bonus earning potential of up to 46%

    Core Responsibilities

    • Operational Leadership: Direct daily operations across 15 concepts, ensuring global standards for service, sanitation, safety, and guest experience.
    • Financial Stewardship: Develop and execute annual budgets, financial forecasts, and strategic business plans to drive sales growth and exceed profitability targets.
    • Strategic Optimization: Continuously evaluate operational workflows to implement efficiencies and enhance guest satisfaction.
    • Stakeholder Management: Build and maintain critical relationships with airport authorities (landlords), branded partners, DBE partners, and joint‑venture stakeholders.
    • Talent & Culture: Lead, coach, and mentor a senior management team; authorize key employment actions including hiring and promotions.
    • Conflict Resolution: Act as the senior resource for resolving complex operational, labor, and business challenges.
    • Compliance: Ensure full adherence to corporate policies, brand standards, and legal operational objectives.

    Professional Requirements

    • Linguistic Proficiency: Fully bilingual in English and French (written and spoken) is required.
    • Experience: 6–8 years of senior management experience in high-volume, multi-unit Food & Beverage operations.
    • Labor Relations: Significant experience working within unionized environments (highly preferred).
    • Education: High School Diploma or GED required; Post‑secondary degree in Hospitality or Restaurant Management preferred.
    • Technical Skills: Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office; experience with PeopleSoft Financials and Micros POS is an asset.
    • Competencies: Exceptional financial acumen, executive‑level communication skills, and the ability to lead a diverse workforce.
    • Physical Capability: Ability to lift/push up to 40 lbs and perform necessary administrative tasks.
