The WDM Corporate Office in Saskatoon is looking for a Curatorial Assistant to assist the WDM in achieving its public trust responsibilities through the care and stewardship of the WDM artifact collections.

The Curatorial Assistant will act as an artifact handler and assist in a project to move a collection of artifacts and upgrade their storage conditions.


Key responsibilities include:

  • Assist in carrying out the temporary movement of a collection of approximately 3,000 artifacts.
  • Assist in maintaining artifact inventories and location records.
  • Assist with reorganization, modification and updates to artifact storage pallet racks. Physical effort and dexterity are required to move and handle a variety of artifacts. This position requires excellent teamwork skills and the ability to follow directions. The Curatorial Assistant will be pursuing an undergraduate degree in Museum Studies, History, or a closely related field. This position is dependent on funding from the Canadian Heritage Young Canada Works in Heritage Organizations (YCWHO) program. To be considered for this position, you must meet all YCWHO eligibility requirements and have a current YCW account for this program year. The hourly wage is $14.46. The work schedule is 72 hours per 2-week pay period from May 6 to August 30, 2024
