    PRIMARY JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

    The Director of Co-operative Education & Workplace Partnerships (CEWP) has primary responsibility for the execution of the University of Windsor's Co-operative Education & paid internship programs. In consultation with the Executive Director, will develop the vision and strategic direction for the Co-operative Education and Workplace Partnership department. The Director of Co-operative Education Services is responsible for leading, directing and managing the staff and services to facilitate and grow new and existing paid work-integrated learning programs, working directly with Faculties and departments as well as ensuring strong employer partnerships locally, nationally, and globally. This will be accomplished by developing strategies to ensure University of Windsor staff, services and programming stays competitive and expands opportunities for students to apply their classroom learning in industry and to reflect on that for their career and personal growth.

    ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS:


    •Bachelor's degree in business, Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field as determined by department
    •Minimum five years of experience managing multiple direct reports in a professional environment with direct oversight of employee recruitment, co-op, internships and/or other forms of experiential learning.
    •Extensive knowledge of and experience in the field of work-integrated learning/experiential learning, employment advising, career planning, and/or program development
    •Ability to manage, lead, and motivate unionized staff with demonstrated experience having managed and supervised multiple direct reports
    •Sound understanding of the labour market and changing economic conditions, employment trends, the sales cycle and student development theory
    •Demonstrated skill in the formulation and implementation of policies, programs and strategies that support operational objectives, departmental and institutional strategic plans
    •Advanced leadership skills with a demonstrated ability to work effectively with a wide range of internal and external stakeholders in a collaborative, service-oriented environment
    •Strong project management skills and proven track record of successfully prioritizing, implementing, and managing projects involving multiple stakeholders
    •Excellent analytical, problem-solving, strategic-thinking, and decision-making skills
    •Outstanding organizational, problem-solving and communication skills
    •Exceptional interpersonal and presentation skills
    •Ability to support a culture focused on a commitment to equity, diversity, inclusion, decolonization and accessibility.
    •Demonstrated commitment for promoting and imbedding Indigenization, equity, diversity, inclusion, and accessibility in the in the delivery of strategic services.
    •Experience in budgeting and financial management
    •Some travel to employers and recruitment events in Ontario and Canada is necessary.
    •Demonstrated creativity and initiative
    •Demonstrated experience working in relational databases
    •Computer proficiency with MS Office, and experience with social media.

    PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:


    •Master's Degree in a related field
    •Extensive knowledge of the university campus and its services, policies and procedures
    •Past experience supervising unionized employees
    •Professional experience in the post-secondary sector
