Description
Main Duties and Responsibilities:
- Proactively supporting our students by checking in with them to ensure no issues arise, and if they do, communicate quickly and efficiently to the relevant departments within the school.
- Ensure that students feel supported by providing oneonone guidance to students, listening to their concerns, and helping them make appropriate decisions.
- Provide helpful information, answer questions, and respond to any issues, concerns or complaints quickly and constructively.
- Serve as a front line of support for VGC students, helping to ensure that they are satisfied with their experience at VGC.
- Keep clear records of each point of contact with every student.
- Supporting the marketing and admissions team members by double checking and sending all documents relevant to a student's registration to appropriate third parties.
- Ensuring that VGC has the required information for each student before they arrive.
- Tracking arriving students and confirming with the admissions team who is starting and who is deferring or cancelling.
- Liaising between the admissions team and the marketing team.

Advising:confidently provide information, advice and guidance while creating a space where students can express themselves openly.

Communication skills:actively listen to students' thoughts, feelings, and concerns, and provide helpful advice. Effectively communicate with various different departments within the school.

Patience and compassion: this role require high levels of patience and compassion, since this position assists students dealing with a range of academic, emotional, social, and behavioral issues

Attention to detail:possess a high level of attention to detail to successfully guide students and understand their goals and concerns during an advising session. This is also necessary when communicating interdepartmentally.

Collaboration:work with students, marketing, admissions, and academic departments to guide students toward success, while respecting privacy guidelines

Administrative and Organization skills - proficient in Microsoft excel and Word and be able to work with a student database. When supporting the admissions team, this individual should be able to track students properly.
- Student support/student services experience preferred
- Administrative experience
- Bachelor's degree
- Must be able to communicate effectively in both English and Portuguese (essential)
NOTE:
This is a temporary maternity leave contract between 9 to 18 months in duration.
