The Opportunity:
The
Recreation Aide role will be serving the community in Shasta Care Community in Edmonton, Alberta.
The Recreation Aide is responsible for ensuring top resident care is priority, with an elevated level of focus in time management.
We are looking for a caring professional, with strong leadership skills to guide our dynamic team who provide hospitality and wellness services within our supportive living community.
Part-time, 25 hours per week

- A strong personal commitment to Person Directed Care approaches
- Familiarity with the Eden Alternative Philosophy and the Domains of Well-Being is preferred
- Strives to attain excellence in Resident, family member and employee care partner satisfaction
- Friendly with a sense of humor and the utmost respect for all persons
- Ensures the performance of recreational services as specified in the Care/Service Plan
- Facilitating and encouraging Resident advocacy
- Responsible for audits and reports, providing and evaluating the delivery of recreational services based on the Resident Care Plan & Service Plan
- Supports the residents in identifying personal leisure barriers
- Follows the Emergency Management Plan, Infection Control protocol, WHMIS, and Health & Safety
- Assisting with daily life and duties within the Community
- Participates in projects and quality improvement initiatives
- Maintain appropriate levels of certification
- Someone who embodies patient leadership skills, while exemplifying team player behavioristics
- Professional motivator, coach, and mentor
Foundational knowledge and experience to grow from:
- Grade 12 Diploma or recognized equivalent is required.
- CPR / First Aid certification is required
- Experience and/or training in recreational services preferred.
