Altea Active's skating instructors are skating enthusiasts who are inspired to share their technical knowledge with their clients in an effective, safe, and progressive style.

They have an innate ability to teach skating skills to a wide variety of clients, although primarily work well with children ages - 8 years old.

They have communication superpowers as they quickly create rapport with their participants and the participants parents, prescribe appropriate and effective skating solutions to help their clients achieve their goals.


You are a customer oriented, friendly, and outgoing professional who has a serious knack for effectively demonstrating the proper use of equipment, techniques and methods of proper movements while explaining and enforces safety, rules, and regulations.

You also take pride in maintaining accurate and up to date records.


You are well versed in the various needs of your clients from strength and conditioning, injury rehabilitation and overall health and wellness.

You maintain a welcoming presence day in and day out. While with clients, you remain focused, ensure proper posture and technique and are enthusiastic.

You're a go-getter who has a special aptitude for sales.

You have a passion for working with and assisting children/youth while maintaining a positive attitude and enthusiasm for the position.

To land this role you need to have;

  • A nationally recognized personal training certification is required and must be maintained throughout employment. Additional certifications may be required to qualify for a pay level increase.
  • Postsecondary education relating to the health and fitness industry/recreation management
  • At least 1+ years of working as a skating assistant
  • At least 1+ year experience coaching/teaching in skating program preferred
  • At least 1+ year experience working, and managing programs, with diverse populations
  • Must be physically able to skate for 50 minutes continuously multiple times in a day, up to 3 hours in a row
  • Knowledge of generally accepted teaching techniques
  • Skill in managing large groups of skaters (i.e. youth / mixed ages).
  • Ability to establish and maintaining effective working relationships with other instructors, the Personal Training
