Description
***Electrical Forepersons possess the full range of knowledge required to install, connect, test, and maintain electrical systems for a variety of purposes including climate control, security, lighting, power sources and communications and are responsible for providing direction and on-floor leadership to their assigned labourers while finding ways to continuously improve the production processes, procedures, and equipment.


Employees are expected to support and participate in a "culture of safety" and adhere to and be ambassadors of Strike's Code of Conduct and Values, and to treat others with dignity, respect, and fairness.


PROJECT/POSITION DETAILS

  • Must be local to the Grande Prairie area

CORE ACCOUNTABILITIES

  • Live by the Values of the company
  • Install, alter, repair, maintain various electrical systems and related equipment
  • Read and interpret electrical and mechanical drawings
  • Plan and layout work fronts
  • Provide preliminary sketches and cost estimates for materials and services
  • Inspect electrical systems, equipment, and components to identify hazards, defects, to ensure compliance with codes
  • Lead a crew of up to 10 workers

QUALIFICATIONS

Education

  • Must possess a valid Journeyperson certificate issued by the appropriate provincial or federal authority

Experience

  • Industrial/energy industry experience an asset

SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE, & ABILITIES

  • Must be able to pass preemployment drug & alcohol testing
  • Must be willing to travel to site
  • Must Possess a valid Driver's License
  • Able to lift 50 pounds
  • Comfortable working outdoors
