GENERAL DESCRIPTION
Reports to the Supervisor, Wholesale Settlements and works with all levels of supervisors, managers and executives. Manage and execute goal-oriented tasks and/or projects established by the Supervisor to achieve departmental objectives.


DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Operation of Wholesale Settlements systems including Advanced Metering Infrastructures, MV90, Savage ODS, Kinetiq settlement, PowerView Web.
  • Analyze and review all energy measurement data for anomalies, troubleshoot and resolve either internally or through coordinated efforts with other internal and external stakeholders.
  • Preparation and processing daily settlement ready data and pricing files into various settlement and billing systems.
  • Responsible for all monthly and annual Wholesale Settlements data acquisition, preparation, calculations and reporting in support of Elexicon Billing, Metering, Regulatory and other third party submissions.
  • Complete monthly wholesale power bill reconciliations processes, including IESO and Hydro One, and provide supporting data for use by Elexicon Financial Services and the Regulatory team and other internal stakeholders.
  • Assist with ensuring compliance with the Ontario Energy Board codes and other compliance instruments inclusive of the Retail Settlement Code, Distribution System Code, Standard Supply Service Code, Affiliate Relationship Code, Transmission System Code, Transmission Rate Schedule, IESO Market Rules, and other directives and bulletins as published.
  • Compile data in support of ad hoc analysis/reporting on various activities including Industrial Conservations Initiative (Class A Global Adjustment) as requested by the Supervisor, Wholesale Settlements or other stakeholders.
  • Liaise with Independent Electricity Operator, Ontario Power Generation, Embedded Generators, Hydro One, and others regarding invoice discrepancies, adjustments and regulation and rate changes and ensure that these issues are handled correctly within the systems.
  • Prepare and distribute IESO, Hydro One and other embedded invoices to internal and external stakeholders to ensure payment is issued on time.
  • Use multiple systems to extract data and process reports for submission and reconciliation purposes.
  • Manage complex workbook and other supporting documentation including automated safeguards to identify discrepancies and perform investigation and analysis.
  • Provide ongoing business process updates and recommendations for development of procedures and policy changes.
  • Primary contact to liaise with internal and external auditors for all Wholesale Settlements inquiries.
  • Manage and execute goal-oriented tasks and/or projects established by the Supervisor and Manager to achieve departmental objectives.
  • Attend to administrative matters as may be delegated by the Supervisor.
  • Maintain confidentiality in all matters of a personal and sensitive nature.
  • Other duties as required may be considered part of these responsibilities.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

  • University degree or college diploma (Business, Finance or metering technology focus preferred)
  • Understanding of and exposure to utility operations preferred.
  • 5 years of relevant work experience is preferred.
  • Ability to exercise independent judgment and perform all assigned duties with mínimal supervision.
  • Excellent organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Assured operational skills in a computerized, network dependent environment, and the ability to quickly learn and adapt to new systems and processes.
  • Ability to multi-task, with strong customer service and troubleshooting skills.
  • Strong problem solving and analytical skills.
