    Your Opportunity:

    This is an exciting opportunity to join a diverse portfolio supporting the PChAD and voluntary youth detox program in Red Deer We are seeking individuals passionate about supporting clients and their families through moderate to severe addictions and mental health treatment streams. Reporting to the Manager or designate, this position will provide one-to-one and group support to clients and families with addiction and mental health services, according to the client's service plan and/or treatment plan. Using a client-centered approach and trauma informed approach, service will be provided in a variety of community settings, providing support and assistance to promote higher functioning, including social, physical and emotional well-being, while fostering self-determination and independence. You will demonstrate the ability to take the initiative, work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team, and have exemplary communication and conflict resolution skills. In this position, there are opportunities to gain experience and knowledge within the Child, Youth and Family portfolio and this position is listed as multisite for Unit 39 at RDRHC, Step Up Step Down, and programs at the Sheldon Kennedy Center of Excellence.     Description:

    As a Mental Health Aide, you will work as a collaborative member of the multidisciplinary team to provide a welcoming and safe care environment. You will assist in the provision of direct patient/client care as delegated in a person-centered, recovery oriented and safe manner. In this position, you will assist and / or promote independence to patients/clients in completing activities of daily living as well as assisting other health professionals with providing treatments and observing and reporting relevant patient/client information to professional staff. You will assist new patients/clients and families with orientation, and assist in the general support of the work area.

    Required Qualifications:

    Completion of Grade 12.Completion of Health Care Aide or Mental Health Aide Certificate or equivalent.

    Additional Required Qualifications:

    Two years' experience, within the last four years, working with vulnerable children and youth. Two years' experience, within the last four years, with addiction/mental health population.

    Preferred Qualifications:

    Experience in de-escalation and non-violent crisis invention is an asset.Mental Health First Aid is considered an asset.
