Reporting to:

Senior Manager, Pastoral Services Employee and Family Assistance Program


Description:


The RWA will advise and support Senior Administration regarding employee wellness initiatives, liaise with pastoral services including the System Equity Officer, Adult Faith Animator, Employee and Family Assistance Counsellors, and Workplace Development Consultant as appropriate, and address complaints as per the Board's Policy, Human Rights Code, and the Occupational Health and Safety Act (OHSA).


Specifically, the Respectful Workplace Advisor:

Responds to employee inquiries regarding the Policy Against Harassment and Discrimination in the Workplace;
Provides consultation, coaching and support and manages and investigates complaints pursuant to the Policy Against Harassment and Discrimination in the Workplace;

Manages reviews of the policy and the procedural guidelines including monitoring legislative and policy development in areas related to human rights, OHSA, equity and inclusion etc.

Provides Alternative Dispute Resolution (ADR) services as appropriate, including facilitating/leading mediation sessions and providing coaching and support to administrators regarding conducting facilitated discussions;
Assists in the planning, development, implementation and monitoring of programs and activities aimed at improving employee health and wellness;
Provides leadership, training and coaching;
Liaises with Senior Administration, Human Resources staff, Union and Association group leadership, etc. regarding policy implementation and responsibilities in the area of harassment, discrimination, bullying, human rights, conflict resolution, workplace restoration and wellness initiatives;
Works in consultation with the Employee and Family Assistance Program to facilitate services for those employees requesting or in need of services;
Develops and delivers educational training regarding the Policy Against Harassment and Discrimination in the Workplace, the Ontario Human Rights Code, the Ontario Health and Safety Act, Conflict Resolution and Workplace Restoration;
Maintains records and service statistics;
Engages in other duties as assigned.


Experience and Qualifications:


Degree in one of the following areas: Social Work, Human Resources, Law, or related discipline with at least 7 years' relevant field experience in human rights policies and practices, conflict resolution and conducting investigation;
Certification(s) in Alternate Dispute Resolution and Mediation are an asset;
Experience in coaching, counselling, mediation, and Alternative Dispute Resolution, including but not limited to a demonstrated ability to conduct fact finding analyses and investigations in dealing with and resolving complex complaints and/or conflicts between individuals or groups;
Excellent interpersonal, oral and written communication skills including delivering workshops for groups of people and writing fact finding and investigation reports;
Ability to work in a collaborative team setting;
Leadership experience and a high level of personal integrity;
Valid Driver's License;
Exemplifies ethical leadership and witness to Catholic values.

Salary:

PASS Job Grade - Professional Administrative Support Staff (PASS) ($87, $109,006)
