The BC Liquor Distribution Branch (LDB) is one of two branches of government that provide oversight for the beverage alcohol and non-medical cannabis industries in the province.

In Human Resources (HR), we support a large, distributed organization with a range of services from our Talent & Compensation, Organizational Development & Change, Employee Relations and Investigations, and Occupational Health and Safety teams.

About this role:


Under the direction of the HR Advisor, Talent & Compensation, the HR Coordinator is responsible for providing coordination of staffing activities and hiring processes for the Liquor Distribution Branch.

The incumbent is also responsible for the administration of the staffing process and streamlining processes.

This position provides line managers with information regarding human resource procedures and the use of the human resource management system (HRMS).

This position establishes excellent client and stakeholder relationships to provide effective human resource services.

This position also provides direction and advice to management and conducts the full-cycle recruitment process for vacancies at or below the classification level.

Position requirements:


Education and Experience:


  • Secondary (high) school Diploma or equivalent certificate.
  • Recent, related significant administrative/clerical experience* with a minimum of 6 months of recent (within the last 5 years) experience working in a human resources environment with an emphasis on administering human resource functions.
  • Experience providing advice and guidance to clients on standard interpretations of policies and procedures.
  • Experience working with a Human Resource Management System, preferably PeopleSoft.
  • Experience in full cycle recruiting, including screening applicants and conducting interviews.
  • Experience working in a government or unionized work environment.
  • Certificate/diploma or formal course work pertaining to Human Resources Management.
  • Recent, related experience must have occurred in the last 5 years.
