Communitech is a hybrid organization headquartered in downtown Kitchener, Ontario. Inperson connection is important to us, so we get together regularly for special events, collaboration days and team socials.

This role requires being onsite at our Kitchener facility between Monday-Friday, 8:30am4:30pm, with occasional after hours support needed.

Reporting to the Senior IT Manager, the System Administrator will have some cool responsibilities in supporting our team.


What You'll be Doing Support: Provide support for the daytoday IT needs of Communitech Provide support for printers, wireless access points, network switches, cameras, and firewalls Provide support for physical, virtual and cloud server infrastructure Provide backup support for AV/Facilities for AV equipment. Hardware:
  • Order, setup and inventory all hardware, software and licenses.
Manage the lifecycle replacement of hardware and appropriate disposal. Perform onboarding and offboarding of users and their accounts Prioritize technical requests in a fast paced environment, and escalate issues where a solution is not easily remediated Use own expertise to solve problems and make recommendations in the pursuit of achieving team key results and goals Identify and support implementation of process improvements. Communicate with the Communitech team on technical issues and maintenance schedules. Conduct small, iterative, experiments to find new ways of doing things. Perform out of hours support as required. Work with the team to plan and implement planned afterhours changes to meet business and operational needs. Work with external vendors on support issues Perform routine system upgrades, monitoring, verifying the integrity and availability of systems hardware, resources and key processes, and reviewing of logs
What You'll Bring Ability to effectively manage multiple concurrent requests and prioritize those requests based on impact. A strong focus on customer experience and communications. 24 years of experience with the following technologies: Mac, Windows and related software issues. AWS Cloud, Directory services, Microsoft O365, Google Workspace, MDM and Linux servers. Implementing and managing network switches, firewalls and servers. Configuring and supporting laptops, printers, access points, ip phones, cameras and mobile devices [AV is an asset]. Securityminded, able to work with a high degree of confidentiality and following ethical IT practices Able to work independently to solve problems, but understands when a problem should be escalated Experience conducting root cause analysis. A selfdriven attitude with the ability to selflearn. Proven problemsolving skills, serviceoriented and solution driven. Excellent verbal and written communication. Relevant IT certifications are an asset
