Description
Position Overview

Autodesk transforms the way buildings get built. We're shaking up the trillion dollar construction industry by creating the world's first mobile construction collaboration app.

Autodesk replaces the headache of stacks of paper, costly mistakes and coordination nightmares with simple, beautiful tablet and smartphone solutions.

More than 40 million blueprints are stored in our cloud, and our customers are adding 4,000 new projects every week.

Autodesk is used on high-profile projects like SFMOMA in San Francisco, Hudson Yards in New York and Conestoga College in KW.

At Autodesk, design is our competitive advantage, and it helps us win hearts (and business) around the globe. You're a champion for the user. You love working with fast-paced, cross-functional teams to distill complicated problems into simple and elegant solutions. You're self-motivated, autonomous, and a master of navigating ambiguity. Join us in defining the future of construction.

Responsibilities:

In this role, you'll have ownership of your projects and guide them through research, exploration, design, and delivery. You'll work closely with design mentors, product managers and engineers to solve meaningful problems. You'll have the opportunity to be curious, focused, and relentless in pursuit of great user experiences every single day. You will be working on high-impact initiatives with a lot of complexity.

Projects previous co-ops have worked on include:

  • Using existing patterns to design across Android, Web, Windows and iOS (including research and testing);
  • Refreshing a tool's information architecture (including research, user testing and running a team workshop)
  • Defining new design system patterns.

Required Skills:

  • Pursuing a degree in Computer Science or Computer Engineering or HCI or related fields
  • Experience with Figma, Sketch, Invision, or similar design and prototyping tools.
  • Strong instincts for visual design, copywriting, and user research.
  • Can work within an existing design system, and have an interest in contributing to and evolving ours.

Bonus points:

  • Skilled in facilitation and design thinking
  • Entrepreneurial spirit and passion for lean UX and datainspired design
  • Intrigued by construction and helping teams build better together
