The Organizational development consultant works collaboratively with HR colleagues and leaders across the organization to elevate Engagement, culture and the employee experience.


As a natural leader and influencer, the incumbent will also enhance talent solutions that accelerate our employee's ability to achieve and sustain a high performance culture, and differentiate WSIB as a great place to work.

The Organization Development Consultant will provide expert advice to the Executive Committee, Senior Management, HR Leadership and other stakeholders on various organizational development programs and initiatives.

Individuals in this role will be required to deliver compelling, engaging and informative presentations to a variety of audiences.


Major Responsibilities:


  • Leads the redesign and/or enhancement of complex culture, talent management and employee experience initiatives, such as performance development, employee engagement, listening strategies, talent management, succession planning, strategic workforce planning, onboarding/offboarding, recognition programs, corporate competencies and corporate values.
  • Project manage all aspects of program development and implementation including, leading activities, tasks, and research that support the implementation of firmwide talent management programs, organizational development projects, interventions, and initiatives.
  • Recognize the impact of change on people when new programs and initiatives are under development and nearing launch, identifying strategies to drive stakeholder buyin and adoption of proposed changes, and building effective communication strategies to support the changes.
  • Own and manage the vendor relationships and bridge any gaps between external vendor and internal stakeholders to ensure positive relations
  • Performs the implementation and coordination tasks to operationalize organizational development programs, ensuring adoption and sustainability across the organization
  • Gathers and summarizes recommendations from multiple stakeholders on potential future enhancements to culture, talent management and employee experience initiatives.
  • Monitors organizational development best practices and identifies opportunities for continuous improvement
  • Conducts environmental scans and needs assessments to build and refine inclusive programs supporting the learning, growth, and development of employees from the front line to senior management
  • Designs/updates documentation, solutions and supporting materials as needed
  • Uses evidence and analytical insights to forecast trends and provide advice/ recommendations on organizational development programs and solutions. Gathers and maintains talent related metrics, including metrics related to culture, employee engagement, employee experience, leadership pipeline, talent management and succession planning
  • Facilitates sessions and provides consultation to colleagues (i.e. Business HR) to educate and support their knowledge of organizational development programs so that they can effectively support their business areas.

Job Requirements:


  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant discipline (e.g., HR Management, Applied behavioural sciences, industrial organizational psychology) or equivalent combination of education and experienced.
  • 710 years of recent, related organization development experience in progressive organizations.
  • Experience in leading complex organizational development projects from design to implementation.
  • Ability to be detailoriented, to prioritize and multitask in a fastpaced environment and deliver results on large and smallscale projects.
  • Ability to influence using strong consultation and facilitation skills.
  • Excellent ability to build relationships and maintain trust with peers and business stakeholders at all levels.
  • Strong critical and analytical thinking skills.
  • Superb time management and organizational skills with ability to work on multiple projects at one time.
  • Superior communication abilities an interpersonal skills, with the ability to communicate complex ideas in persuasive and compelling manner to all levels of leaders, employees and vendors.
  • Demonstrates behavior's consistent with the WSIB's values and is committed to fostering a healthy, inclusive and engaged work environment
  • CHRL an asset
  • Masters Certificate in a related discipline an asset
  • Change Management certificate and/or designation preferred.
  • Project Management certificate and/or designation an asset
