The Job - Painter

Painters at On Side are important team members who, help restore damaged personal and commercial property, anywhere and anytime disaster strikes.

Painters add colour to clients dreams with fresh, clean surfaces in the perfect shade.

What you bring
Painters bring a host of abilities to their work, not the least being a 'get it done' attitude

Additional abilities required include:

Experience working in construction environments with tools and the skills to use them
Strong people and communication skills
Attention to detail, passion for quality and pride in the work you do
A safety mindset
Valid driver's licence and a clean criminal record (we do check)
Ability to communicate in English

What you're responsible for

A painter is skilled in the following ways:

Estimate the quantity of materials required by measuring surfaces, reviewing scopes, sketches and work orders
Remove old coatings by stripping with solvents, heat, sanding, wire brushing, or water and abrasive blasting
Prepare surfaces for covering by cleaning, filling nail holes and cracks, and sanding rough spots
Match specified colours by using premixed paints, or mixing colour and thinning and drying additives

Other stuff that'll help you be successful but isn't mandatory:

Experienced in drywall finishing, including mudding and taping
WHMIS
First Aid

Of Note
Disasters can strike at any time so a rotating schedule of 24/7 after hours on-call work is a requirement.

Job Types:
Full-time, Permanent

Salary:
$25.00-$30.00 per hour
