What You'll Do:


  • Champions a customer focused culture to deepen client relationships and leverage broader Bank relationships, systems and knowledge.
  • Responding promptly and professionally to inquiries from customers, business lines supported and other units within Securities and Operations including senior level officers and Management.
  • Providing insight and support to Manager during the planning, organizing and preparing of project related activities affecting the unit and ensuring successful implementation of changes to related processes and / or systems in support of our business partners.
  • Understand how the Bank's risk appetite and risk culture should be considered in daytoday activities and decisions and follow bank policies and procedures on processing
  • Withdraw bonds payments from custodians to Nostro accounts on timely manner.
  • Reconcile unclaimed interest accounts on a daily basis and debit/credit balances on ledger accounts versus BPS, repo and Impact.
  • Final review and signed off vendor reports and provide record keeping documents for internal and external audit.
  • Actively pursues effective and efficient operations of his/her respective areas, while ensuring the adequacy, adherence to and effectiveness of daytoday business controls to meet obligations with respect to operational risk, regulatory compliance risk, AML/ATF risk and conduct risk, including but not limited to responsibilities under the Operational Risk Management Framework, Regulatory Compliance Risk Management Framework, AML/ATF Global Handbook and the Guidelines for Business Conduct.
  • Collect and research all payments associated with the distributions via DTC/CDS/EUROCLEAR/CLEARSTREAM/BNP/CITI/HSBC
  • Process interest and principle payments to clients and Ensure bond/interest and principle related events are accurately set up
  • Reconcile and process CDS/DTC/BONY FED distributions to BPS, Impact, and repo accounts accurately on a timely basis
  • Reconcile with reconciliation department for custodian foreign bonds payments
  • Process incoming/outgoing claims when required and Process foreign bond payments on a timely basis and monitor and reverse DTC invalid tracking on a timely manner.
  • Champions a high performance environment and implements a people strategy that attracts, retains, develops and motivates their team by fostering an inclusive work environment; communicating vison/values/business strategy and managing succession and development planning for the team.
  • Provide ongoing assistance to the other bond interest officers and to the Manager and support on other desks in the department as required by holiday schedules, volumes and project

What You'll Bring:


  • Good knowledge of Security Operations and the Income Processing Department procedures especially those that relate to the processing of Bond interest, maturity, principle pay down, partial call distributions, as well as other relate to the Bond Interest area,
  • Clearing, Reconciliations, Reorg, MSDI.
  • Excellent knowledge of the operational procedures and regulations of CDS, DTC, BONY FED, CEDEL, EUROCLEAR, BNP, HSBC, and CITI the transfer agents and other financial institutions with whom the department interacts on claims, payments and processing of Bond Interest and Principle entitlements.
  • Complete knowledge of Interest and associated tax issues as they relate to the payment, processing and reporting of Canadian, US and "foreign income" i.e. NRT, eligibility, booksclose activity, record/ex/payable date implications, and different tax treatments etc.
  • Effective communication skills both verbal and written.
  • Ability to respond to fluctuation volumes within tight timeframes and maintain a high degree of accuracy.
  • Good operating knowledge of Broadridge system in general and detailed knowledge of Impact and
  • Good knowledge of Microsoft Excel and Word.
