About the job
We are hiring for both our Home Visiting Program for Infants and Inpatient Services teams. Every day will be a little different, but you can expect activities like:
- Conducting specialized clinical assessments and developing treatment plans.
- Administering standardized assessments and interpreting clinical data.
- Leading consultations with families, schools, and community agencies.
- Documenting and reporting on client progress.
- Collaborating with physiotherapists, psychologists, psychiatrists, social workers, and other healthcare providers.
- Regular travel to provide in-home services as part of the Home Visiting Program for Infants.
What you bring to the team
Mandatory
- Master's Degree in Speech-Language Pathology from a recognized university.
- Current registration with the College of Audiologists and Speech-Language Pathologists of Ontario (CASLPO).
- Valid Ontario 'G' Driver's license.
- Willingness to work a flexible schedule and ability to travel.
Specialized knowledge
You have:
- Expertise in speech-language pathology for children and youth with mental health and developmental challenges.
- Clinical experience with pediatric speech-language assessment tools and techniques.
- Note: Qualification as an Assistive Device Program (ADP) authorizer is an asset. Preference is given to those with specialized experience in Speech-Language Pathology.
Consultation and interpersonal skills
You can:
- Advise on laws, policies, and procedures.
- Support diverse client needs and work well in teams.
- Collaborate with professionals, families, and community groups.
- Engage with children, youth, and families to agree on care plans.
- Work effectively in transdisciplinary or interdisciplinary teams.
Analytical and organizational skills
You can:
- Coordinate information, collect data, and analyze to develop and monitor client plans.
- Gather information for assessments and treatment needs and produce relevant reports.
- Manage data from various sources and prioritize tasks.
- Use computer software applications including Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint.
Communication Skills
You can:
- Prepare reports and materials using verbal and written communication skills.
- Relate to different people and adapt to various roles.
- Interview clients for assessments and documentation.
- Present information effectively to clients, families, and community providers.
