About The CMM
The Confederacy of Mainland Mi'kmaq (The CMM) is a Tribal Council representing the eight Mi'kmaq communities of mainland Nova Scotia.

Under the direction of the Senior Director of Community Services and Infrastructure, and reporting to the
Infrastructure Program Manager, the Energy Project Coordinator is responsible for implementing the Low
Carbon Mi'kmaw Communities project.
This initiative supports Mi'kmaw communities in their transition to a low-carbon future through building capacity for communities to pursue clean energy initiatives.
Work will involve community outreach on energy efficiency and renewable energy in order to build awareness and energy literacy, providing support for communities in pursuing energy initiatives, and organizing skill development opportunities in the renewable energy sector for community members.
The Energy ProjectCoordinator will also be responsible for performing other tasks as needed to develop capacity for The
CMM and Mi'kmaw First Nation communities to participate in the energy sector, such as attending meetings, assisting with project reports and presentations, and drafting new project proposals.
Position Requirements:
- Post-Secondary diploma or certification in a relevant discipline (example: Environmental Science,
- Minimum of oneyears' experience working in clean energy, sustainability, or a related field
- Experience working in or with First Nation communities.
- Strong understanding of opportunities and developments in the clean energy field in Nova Scotia
- Ability to work effectively with other organizations, levels of government, industry, and the public.
- Experience delivering environmental or educational programming to a variety of age groups.
- Excellent communication, facilitation, and training skills
- Highly organized with the ability to multitask, prioritize, and meet tight deadlines.
- Driver's license, reliable vehicle, and ability to travel.

Salary/Employment Term:
Salary Range:
$50,000 - $65,000 per year. This is a Permanent Position (pending successful one-year probationary contract).
