FINISHING FOREMAN
Reports To:
Site Supervisor and Construction Manager
Position Summary
To supervise the construction of new homes from drywall to close and to work closely with, and direct, other team members to complete assigned tasks on time, under budget, and within tolerance in a manner that aligns with HN Homes' values and goals.
This position is supervisory and the ability to direct team members and follow company processes is critical. This position will require common sense, logical thought processes, and the ability to work in a safety conscious manner. This position requires the employee to provide their own personal hand tools and to wear all required PPE.

Responsibilities
- Supervise and inspect the work of subtrades and report on any deficiencies or outstanding items
- Organize and schedule the correction of deficiencies or outstanding items
- Report on construction schedule milestones and outstanding or additional work required
- Work constructively as part of the team to meet scheduling deadlines
- Participate as required in Workplace Health & Safety procedures and initiatives
Qualifications
- Minimum of 5 years in residential construction as a Skilled Handyman, Service Technician or Finishing Foreman, with experience scheduling multiple homes simultaneously
- Technical education or equivalent in acquired site education
- Experience in a leadership capacity for a minimum of 5 years
- Ability to read blueprints, schematics, product specifications and plans
- Understanding of the Ontario Building Code and Tarion requirements
- Solid understanding of residential construction methods and materials
- Inspecting and understanding all aspects of the construction is essential
- Have knowledge of Health and Safety conditions and best practices
- Meet current Health and Safety training requirements for low rise residential construction
- Comfortable in the use of technology smartphones, tablets or computers to record, review and communicate information
- Must have valid Driver's License
- Obtain certification in "Basics of Supervising" under Federal Law
- Strong leadership skills, with prior experience in directing other team members
- Microsoft Office 365 skills (Word, Excel and Outlook)
Workplace Environment and Conditions
- Extended hours as required for the Supervision and Inspection of the work site as required
- The physical demands will be standing, walking, kneeling, squatting and bending for long periods of time on a regular basis.
- Work will be conducted under various weather conditions and temperatures and will be primarily indoors.
