Description

As part of an ambitious team, it is the responsibility of the Sales Manager to effectively carry out all sales research and activities within the assigned sales territory or segment, to achieve the goals established by the Director of Sales and Marketing.

• Participate in industryrelated events, tradeshows, and committees.
• Conduct inside and outside sales calls, solicitation, and site inspections to build relationships and target new business
• Generate profitable strategies by evaluating business/sales goals, market opportunities, past results, and available resources
• Research the market to identify potential sources of business within the market segment(s) assigned
• Accurately quote and negotiate corporate rates while adhering to the hotel rate structure
• Recommend ways and means of maximization of hotel revenue through sales strategies
• Actively participate in sales team meetings and strategy sessions
• Build and strengthen relationships with existing and new customers to gain new sales opportunities

• Previous sales experience, minimum 3 years, in a similar setting is required
• Ability to work as part of a team with strong strategic selling skills preferably within the hotel/tourism industry
• Proven ability to problem solve, interact with many moving parts and collaborate with various areas throughout the hotel
• Ability to work well under pressure while handling short lead times when necessary
• Highly energetic, selfstarter with strong sales skills, including negotiation, prospecting, and presentation
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
• Strong communications skills (verbal and written)
• Ability to work flexible hours when required
• Flexibility to travel within Manitoba
