Position Description:


The Program Manager, Patient, Family Partner Relations shapes and manages the community of children, youth, family, and community member Partners that are essential to ensuring that the voice of those who benefit from the research and care conducted by SickKids are heard and brought to various initiatives across the organization.

The Program Manager will be responsible for building relationships with our Partners including the recruitment, onboarding, orientation, retention, and evaluation of these processes on an ongoing basis.

The Program Manager will promote a culture of open and accessible Partnership by ensuring our processes are built on the values of equity, diversity, and inclusion of all voices.

Here Is What You Will Do

  • Implement strategies to ensure diverse representation of partner voices across SickKids engagement activities.
  • Provide regular feedback, mentorship and coaching to Partners.
  • Oversee the recruitment, onboarding, and orientation of new Partners.
  • Facilitate the placement of Partners on hospital committees, research studies and projects based on the requirements of the assignment and the skill/competence/interest of the Partner.
  • Track and report on Partner engagement activities
  • Provide education to staff about the role of advisors and assist in identifying opportunities for patient and family engagement.
  • Develop and sustain a communication and engagement strategy including regular updates to internal/external websites, newsletters and/or other mediums.
  • Support the development of institutional guidelines and policies.
  • Develop and sustain programs to develop partner competencies.
  • Support the activities and meetings of the Partner Advisory Committees across the enterprise.

Here Is What You Will Need

  • Master¿s degree in healthrelated field (e.g. nursing, social work)
  • 25 years experience collaborating with Patient and Family Advisors
  • Indepth understanding of Child and Family-Centered Care and Patient and Family Engagement
  • Strong presentation skills
  • Expert facilitation skills
  • Experience analyzing data, identifying trends, writing, and presenting reports.
  • Strong project management skills
  • Excellent interpersonal skills
  • Exceptional written and oral communication skills
  • Excellent organizational skills
  • Advanced skills in Microsoft Suites (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)
  • Demonstrated commitment and actions in advancing equity, diversity, and inclusion objectives
