Duties and Responsibilities:

Reporting to the Manager, Academic Support Operations, the program administrator will work in a highly collegial, team environment. The incumbent provides administrative support for all aspects of the Women in Engineering and IT Program.

This includes, but is not limited to, supporting planning and execution of program elements, monitoring and reporting on program elements, tracking and requesting payment of program expenses, establishing and maintaining effective, positive relationships with program participants (students, sponsors, faculty, staff, volunteers), supporting events and communications within the program, corresponding with, compiling and distributing information to program participants.


Qualifications:


  • Superior organizational and time management skills; ability to organize work effectively in a fastpaced, highly collegial team environment, set priorities and meet strict deadlines with mínimal supervision and with superior attention to detail;
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills for the purpose of communicating effectively with program participants including students, sponsors, volunteers, faculty, staff and the public;
  • The incumbent must possess exceptional interpersonal skills and the knowledge of how to use them to build and maintain effective relationships. The incumbent will work both independently and in cooperation with the other members of the unit and across campus;
  • Must have the ability to professionally represent the Faculty and University with discretion, tact and diplomacy and deal effectively with faculty, students, staff and public;
  • An elevated degree of customer service skills and professionalism in dealing with external stakeholders and program sponsors and volunteers is required to ensure that the University is well represented in the broader community;
  • The incumbent must have a comprehensive understanding of database management, superior computer skills including expertise in the use of MS Excel, MS Word and MS PowerPoint.
  • The ability to adapt to a changing electronic environment;
  • Knowledge of the Faculty and University's structure, procedures, policies and regulations;
  • Knowledge of the university's cultural and institutional goals and objectives is highly desirable or demonstrated ability to rapidly acquire this knowledge.

Education and Experience:


The above is normally acquired through the completion of:

  • University degree, or an acceptable equivalent.
  • Three years work experience in the field of postsecondary education administration or an equivalent, with particular emphasis on program/project management, stakeholder relations, volunteer management, and customer service.
