About your next Challenge
as a Logistics Specialist**:

Logistics Specialist is responsible to day-to-day shipment planning and execution by way of communicate with internal shipment requester and external freight forwarders/carriers to ensure freight is moving from its origin to its final destination, as well as managing daily routine such as preparing the shipping documentation, including scheduling and tracking shipments, negotiating with freight carriers and financial management of shipping.


What will you do:

Freight Booking

  • Execute freight booking activities direction with Freight Forwarders and/or carriers according to company policies and government regulations;
  • Prepare commercial invoices and B13 declarations;
  • Plan and coordinate pickup and delivery schedules;
  • Track/report shipment status to delivery location (POD);
  • Work with international Shippers, Carriers and Dispatchers to manage the schedules;
  • Request and manage spot quotes and provide recommendation;
  • Resolve freight discrepancies/shipment exceptions in a timely manner;
  • Manage claims made to carriers following damage;
  • Respond to internal/external customer concerns and queries professionally maintain positive and productive relationship;
  • Maintain strong relationship with multiple carriers/forwarders;
  • Ensure that shipping and customs paperwork are completed and approved before transportation;
  • Maintain shipment records and PODs for reference purposes.
Logistics Administrative and Financial Management

  • Perform logistics management operations that involve planning, coordinating, or evaluating the logístical actions required to meet business objectives;
  • Working knowledge in obtaining each country's tax rate, duties cost and tariffs in accordance to company products;
  • Plan and coordinate shipment pickup, transport, and delivery for including but not limited to:
  • Unserviceable unit to repair vendor;
  • Return repaired units to owner/customer;
  • Purchased goods to customer point of use;
  • Production Finished Goods to end customer;
  • Return to Vendor (RTV) shipments;
  • Recognize potential logistics problem areas & recommend the appropriate remedies to senior management;
  • Make recommendations to improve and optimize the activities and procedures linked to shipping;
  • Maintain and perform data input in utilizing enterprise resource planning (ERP) output to assist in material management;
  • Measure and report Periodic KPI as defined.

Required Skills and Experiences:


  • 5+ years of experience for freight forwarding field/commercial industry;
  • Logistics or Transport college diploma or equivalent;
  • Sound knowledge of import/export/customs procedures and documentation;
  • Solid understanding of INCOTERMS and HS Codes;
  • Working knowledge of controlled goods or ITAR licenses preferred;
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and Adobe Acrobat;
  • Bilingualism French and English, spoken and written;
  • Autonomous, versatile and flexible;
  • Must be highly motivated, well organized and detail oriented;
  • Ability to work under pressure;
  • Must demonstrate the ability to manage multiple concurrent tasks;
  • Time management, priority setting;
  • Experience in Aeronautics & Defense sector is an asset.

Eligibility Criteria (mandatory):


  • Must be eligible for registration with the
    Controlled Goods Program;
  • Must be eligible to obtain and maintain a government of Canada
    "Reliability" status and
    Level 2 (Secret) security clearance;
  • Must be eligible to meet the requirements for
    U.S. International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR);
  • For onsite positions, our location not accessible by public transport, car/carpooling required.
