We are looking for a highly motivated shop parts person for over-counter sales, helping parts manager and mechanics with parts and delivery and pickup.
About the Organization

K.N.W. Diesel Inc. was established in 1986 and is located in Surrey, British Columbia. We are the Scania Marine and Industrial dealer for the lower mainland.

Our factory trained technicians work mostly on Cummins, Caterpillar and Detroit Diesel engines — but we will work on any diesel engine on or off-road, marine and industrial.

Our focus is to diagnose, repair and overhaul Diesel engines across all industries.

We have a complete parts department offering genuine Detroit Diesel parts and aftermarket IPD and Interstate-Mcbee parts.

Visit our machine shop and you will see that we have Rottler boring and honing machines for cylinder block boring and re-sleeving.

We offer complete cylinder head and component rebuilding, surface grinding and hot tanking.

ROLE & RESPONSIBILITIES:


  • Provide excellent customer service while interacting with guests, wholesale customers and mechanics.
  • Ordering and arranging parts and preparing them for delivery or pickup.
  • Look up part numbers and prices.
  • Maintain a comprehensive record system on parts, issuing accounts, and analysis records for quality control and warranty.
  • Take periodic parts room inventory and establish minimum supply levels based on operational needs and advise supervisor.
  • Issue parts based on requisitions submitted by mechanics.
  • Maintain parts and parts department in a clean and orderly manner.
  • Must follow company safety policies and practices, and immediately, report all accidents to a Manager/Supervisor.
  • Utilize a software system to quote, order and manage orders.
  • Utilizing a forklift to unload deliveries and parts off shelf.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES REQUIRED:


  • Excellent customer service skills.
  • Ability to operate a forklift
  • Working knowledge of diesel engine parts is not required but an asset
  • Knowledge of techniques for receiving, storing, and issuing parts and supplies.
  • Ability to maintain records and prepare reports using a computerized equipment maintenance system.
  • Ability to work cooperatively with all levels of the organization.
  • Ability to communicate with others and to assimilate and understand information, in a manner consistent with the essential job functions.
  • Ability to make sound decisions in a manner consistent with the essential job functions.
  • Valid British Columbia driver's license.
  • Ability to function proficiently in a high pace environment.
  • Superior multitasking skills with the ability to drop one task and move immediately to another.
Parts experience an asset


Pay:
$20.00-$35.00 per hour

Expected hours: 40 per week
