    What you'll do

    As a Command Center Analyst, you will be part of our Enterprise Event Monitoring team to ensure infrastructure/network availability and health of Aviva applications. The role's focus will be to improve enterprise systems availability and performance through effective monitoring and alerting to IT support teams.

    You'll be the engaging with infrastructure, networking, and application teams to build and deploy solutions to ensure availability and performance making sure they adhere to the agreed upon monitoring and technical requirements and standards. You will also be responsible for managing the configuration, and maintenance of effective monitoring for the whole technology stack to pinpoint the root cause of any issues.

    This role requires to employ and establish best practices for the use of infrastructure platforms to deploy monitoring solutions for various devices including routers, switches wireless devices firewalls and data points and to improve Aviva infrastructure.

    An ideal candidate for this position will be goal oriented, self-motivated, and able to work independently and as a team to complete the tasks.

    Participate in issue discovery and assist application teams in providing critical metrics to help in resolving the issue.

    What you'll bring

  • Remote monitoring of multiple domains, infrastructure and network devices including servers, routers, switches, storage.
  • Network performance monitoring and assist in troubleshooting problem areas as required by providing network performance data.
  • Work collaboratively with application support, developers, and database teams for application Monitoring on-boarding.
  • Working with various IT and business stakeholders to identify and implement the optimal solutions completed technology stack which includes network, infrastructure, and application monitoring to ensure appropriate KPI are in place for performance measurements.
  • Identify root cause, trouble shoot incidents and implement preventive measures.
  • Provide real time information for availability and performance of network throughput by discovering, mapping, and measuring of information flow within the network and detect signs for possible problems.
  • Work closely with infrastructure team to provide support in managing the performance and availability of key infrastructure components.
  • Collaborate with projects and application support teams across the enterprise to identify opportunities and to provide inputs to address any monitoring gaps.
  • Build dashboards and reports to show key metrics data from multiple sources and create scorecards containing key metric data.
  • Interact with technology stakeholders and partners to understand the requirements for deployment of various network and infrastructure monitoring related solutions.
  • Plan and support to Install, configure monitoring agents and other monitoring components for on premises applications and services using in house monitoring tools.
  • Experience in building and maintaining operations monitoring with mainstream monitoring tools SolarWinds, Appdynamics and Microfocus Sitescope
  • Understanding of network issues
  • Technical background with LAN, WAN, network security principles, and general network management best practices.
  • Working technical knowledge of current network hardware, protocols, and Internet standards, routing protocols, VPN, firewalls VMWare, Active Directory, TCP/IP troubleshooting
  • Should be familiar and have working knowledge with enterprise hardware and peripherals.
  • Develop and produce dashboards to detect and persistence issues in real-time.
  • Knowledge of API connect implications of REST API, SOAP API
  • Hands-on experience of Windows and Linux/AIX OS including experience working in the command line interface including shell scripting including common application frameworks like Java, .NET, NodeJS
  • Strong organizational, time management skills and ability to work with multiple stakeholders.
  • Verbal, written communication and interpersonal skills to interact with internal customers and to document any issues on day-to-day basis.
  • Post-secondary degree or diploma in Computer studies or related experience
  • Minimum of 3 – 5 years hands on experience in designing, implementing & supporting solutions with enterprise Monitoring systems and IT Applications.
  • Past system analyst experience with web applications (preferred)
