Summary:


The Manager, Family, Youth and Children's Services Team reports to the Director of Program and Staff Development and contributes to the overall success of the organization by providing effective and strategic leadership to the Family, Youth and Children's Services Leads and teams.

As a member of the senior leadership team this position contributes to the overall effective operation of SCCSS.


Key Duties and Responsibilities:


Program Management and Coordination

Teams:

  • Provides managerial supervision and support to direct reports
  • Provides leadership and visioning to the FYSC team.
  • Ensures the Leads make decisions that reflect the values, strategic directions and models of services delivery of SCCSS.
  • Creates and maintains an effective and supportive communication structure within the FYCS team
  • Is accountable for and works with Leads to oversee management of annual /quarterly tasks including and not limited to; evaluation and monitoring tools, contract renewals, program related communications with stakeholders, Payworks vacation and sick time accruals and approvals.
  • Supports Leads to maintain an across team succession plan that includes ongoing staff development current program operations manuals
  • Identifies and supports cross team program needs and collaboration between all FYC programs
  • Ensures communication and collaboration between the Family, Youth and Children's Services program teams, other SCCSS programs and the Senior Leadership Team.
  • Plays a key leadership role as an active member of the Senior Management Team.

Budgets:

  • Is responsible for annual budget planning and development
  • Oversees monthly budget accountability of FYCS Leads
  • Proactively seeks funding opportunities through grants, donors etc. and other funding opportunities to be responsive to program needs and directions
  • Manages independent funder and contractor budgets as required.

Program Standards:

  • Oversees contract standards and renewals of FYC programs and ensure adherence to program fidelity, contract obligations and standards.
  • Ensures effective service delivery consistent with agency mandate, policy, meeting all legal, contractual financial and other compliance requirements.
  • Completes, monitors and delegates tasks to ensure the objectives and outcomes of the program(s) meet funders' expectations.
  • Works with the guidance of the Director of Clinical Supervision and Program Evaluation to ensure CARF and supervision standards are met for programs.
  • Manages and oversees Program Leads to establish, maintain and monitor standards and accountability mechanisms including work plans, outcomes models, monitoring frameworks and evaluation processes; meeting contract and CARF requirements for completion of program(s) reports, stat collection and maintenance of relevant documents.
  • Ensures effective service delivery consistent with agency mandate, policy, meeting all legal, contractual financial and other compliance requirements.
  • Builds, develops and maintains effective relationships with all stakeholders of the program(s).
  • Participates and supports Leads in program level meetings with MCFD, CYMH and other relevant stakeholders.
  • Stays current with SCCSS programs and services to foster collaboration and connections for staff and volunteers across the organization.
  • Participates in organizational wide initiatives as interested or asked.
  • Supports the mission, vision and values of SCCSS including participating in organizationwide initiatives as interested or asked.

Community Development

  • May act as advocate for participant groups in the community, represent the program(s) on committees and advocacy groups in the community in program(s) related areas
  • Designs and develops prevention and intervention programs to meet community needs as appropriate
  • Maintains effective relationships with funders, community partners, organizations and individuals relevant to areas of responsibility.

Staff and Volunteer Management

  • Works with the HR Manager and Leads to recruit, hire and orient and train staff
  • Supports a professional dev
