Work Location: 1770 Langlois Ave.

, permanent

Shift Information:
Monday to Friday, 35 hours per week. Some evenings and weekends required.

Job Specific Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Provide direct clinical services for Family Services Windsor-Essex's Counselling program at various locations, including the main office, satellite offices, and outreach initiatives
  • Monitoring caseloads relative to timely record keeping.
  • Conducting assessments of new clients to determine need for service, problem identification and appropriateness of counselling for clients.
  • Developing service plans with clients.
  • Referring clients to appropriate community resources as identified in the Service Plan.
  • Ensuring all Counselling & EAP Program protocols and standards are adhered to.
  • Attending department meetings on a regular basis to ensure effective communication between staff, management, and the people we support.
  • Evaluating programs using approved outcome measurement tools.
  • Dealing with all requests from stakeholders and people we support in a timely and appropriate manner.
  • Participating in community events to promote/ provide information on FSWE.
  • Providing a variety of Health and Wellness Training sessions and programs to clients.

Education and Experience Required:

  • Masters of Social Work
  • A registered Social Work designation from the Ontario College of Social Workers
  • Three (3) to five (5) years of experience is an asset

Special Skills, Knowledge and Training Required:

  • In depth knowledge of Individual/Couple/Family (ICF) Counselling practice is required in the associated clinical core competencies.
  • Proven skill in delivery of cognitive behavioural therapy or other evidencebased therapies
  • Knowledge of community resources in Windsor and Essex County is essential.
  • Excellent conflict resolution skills and counselling skills.
  • Excellent communication skills, both oral and written.
  • Strong advocacy skills on behalf of vulnerable individuals.
  • Demonstrated compassion toward vulnerable individuals and persons with disabilities, individuals living on a low income, and understanding of the discrimination faced by people with low income and disabilities.
  • Proven computer literacy.
