About Us


The Manitoba Arts Council (MAC) is an arms-length agency of the Province of Manitoba, established in 1965 "to promote the study, enjoyment, production and performance of works in the arts." MAC grants approximately $11 million annually to Manitoba arts/cultural organizations and individuals.


Position Summary
The Executive Coordinator has primary responsibilities as the Executive Assistant and the Corporate Secretary. Additionally, the incumbent performs administrative, event planning and office management duties. The Executive Coordinator works in a confidential environment and often in a self-directed, independent manner.


The Executive Coordinator reports to the Executive Director and works with the Executive Director, the Board Chair and MAC's entire team.


Responsibilities

  • Support the office of the Executive Director including scheduling, correspondence, and filing.
  • Support the work of the Board including scheduling, agendas, taking minutes, policies, correspondence, meeting catering, corporate filings.
  • Lead the organization of MAC's public events.
  • Lead MAC's archiving activity.
  • Administrative functions as required.
  • Office management functions as required.

Qualifications and attributes


As part of the Executive Office, the Executive Coordinator is an accomplished administrative professional who has a work history demonstrating consistency, reliability, and excellent attention to detail.

They have advanced English language skills, are a confident communicator, and a trusted collaborator.

  • Excellent administrative, organizational and time management skills are required.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills are required.
  • Excellent Microsoft Office Suite skills are required.
  • The ability to interact confidently with Executive level stakeholders is required.
  • The ability to lead projects is required.
  • The ability to keep information confidential is required.
  • Familiarity with the functions of a Board of Directors is a significant asset.
  • Knowledge of governance best practices is a significant asset.
  • Experience with organizational policies is a significant asset.
  • The ability to speak/read/write French is a significant asset.

Condition of Employment

  • Must be legally entitled to work in Canada.

Compensation
This full-time position is exempt from Union membership and has a salary range of $52,155 to $62,586 per year. MAC participates in Manitoba's Civil Service Superannuation Board (Pension Plan) and offers a comprehensive health benefits plan.


Location
The Executive Coordinator works onsite at MAC's Winnipeg office with the rest of the MAC team.

Though most of the work is during MAC's 8:30 am to 4:30 pm office hours, occasional evening and weekend work is required for Board meetings and public events.
