Job Summary


Reporting to the Business Manager, the HR Generalist will provide support in all aspects of Human Resources across our 4 centres.

The HR Generalist will have both administrative and strategic responsibilities, helping the company to plan and administer important functions, such as staffing, employee relations, training and development, HRIS management, policies and procedures, performance management and health and safety.


Accountabilities for this role include:

Onboarding and Offboarding:

  • Manage the full cycle recruitment process;
  • Develop and implement strategic recruitment programs;
  • Revise and roll out internal recruitment process;
  • Manage the onboarding process for all new hires; and
  • Manage offboarding for all staff including exit interviews.

Employee Relations:

  • Support, coach and counsel front line supervision in employee relation and legislative matters;
  • Identify and resolve employee relations issues. Provide guidance to managers and mediate workplace conflict resolution;
  • Manage employee performance review process;
  • Develop and maintain new supervisor training; and
  • Coordinate training and development programs.
  • Coach and influence leadership on all areas of HR issues including performance management, employee relations, workforce planning, organizational design and resourcing, employee and organizational development, progressive discipline, talent management, succession planning, attraction and retention strategies, job evaluation.

HR Planning and Reporting:

  • Assist in developing and implementing human resources plans, policies, procedures, and goals; and
  • Work with leadership on projects, policy development and implementation of HR initiatives.

Payroll, Benefits and HR Administration:

  • Ensure compliance with employment laws, regulations, and company policies and procedures;
  • Process biweekly payroll;
  • Plan Administrator for Group Health Benefits Plan; and
  • Maintain Human Resource records and provide various monthly reports and dashboards for management and Board of Directors.

Health and Safety:

  • Promote engagement with the company safety program to foster involvement and reduce at risk behaviours;
  • Assist in the implementation of safety related programs to ensure safety goals are met; and
  • Assist in the preparation and performance of safety meetings and training programs to improve knowledge and understanding of hazards and risks relative to work performed.

Other Duties:

  • Provide support to the team and the Centre as needed
  • Other duties as assigned.
Experience/Qualifications

  • Post-Secondary education in Human Resources Management with CHRP or designation in progress, with a minimum of 3 years direct experience.
  • Strong working knowledge of applicable employment and safety legislation
  • Solid interpersonal, and communication skills with the ability to interact with people in all levels of the organization.
  • Ability to work in a fast paced environment with multiple locations
  • Computer systems literacy (Microsoft Office)
  • Experience with Ceridian payroll is an asset
  • Strong initiative and judgement skills
  • Driver's license and access to a vehicle

Salary:
$68,000.00-$75,000.00 per year
