The Native Communications Society of the NWT has a team of creative, passionate, and talented individuals constantly searching for experiences.
Our Radio Division, CKLB, delivers News, Current Affairs and diverse regional and cultural perspectives daily into the lives of NWT Residents, in five Aboriginal languages, and English.
NCS is currently seeking an Accounting Technician to work full-time in a cross-cultural environment.We are seeking a person with a diploma in accounting or bookkeeping, who possesses excellent problem-solving skills as well as the ability to prioritize and multi-task.
Scope:
Reporting to the Director of Finance, you are responsible for the accurate and timely entry of financial transactions in accounting journals and spreadsheets, creating financial reports, tracking projects, and reconciling accounts using Sage 50 & Intaact software.
To be successful, you should have excellent organizational skills, good working knowledge of accounting software and accounting principles, and the ability to work unsupervised.
Ultimately, a top-notch Accounting Technician should have integrity, excellent mathematical skills, an inquisitive mind, an understanding of data security, excellent writing skills and a desire to learn.

Requirements:
- 2year diploma in accounting or bookkeeping, equivalencies will be considered

Responsibilities
- Gather, analyze, and interpret financial data
- Create, send, record and follow up on invoices
- Create, update and review data for reports
- Review and perform audits on financial statements and reports
- Conduct analysis and report discrepancies
- Process payments for vendors and employees
- Manage project accounts
- Communicate with clients and respond to queries
- Administrative tasks
