The purpose of this competition is the population of an eligibility list for the hiring of Technical Officers to support the Canadian Photonics Fabrication Centre (CPFC) within NRC's Advanced Electronics and Photonics Research Centre.
All positions will be required to process material using common wafer fabrication tools, perform metrology, and use wet chemistries.
Screening Criteria:
Education:
Post-secondary education in a technical, engineering or scientific discipline related to the position.
An equivalent combination of work related experience, training and education may be considered.

Experience:
The experience criteria for this position are as follows;
- Significant handson experience supporting manufacturing processes.
- Basic experience in the analysis and interpretation of data from material assessment.
- Significant handson experience with the safe use of chemicals and chemical processing in a laboratory or manufacturing environment.
One of the following experience criteria is also required.**- Significant experience in operating complex manufacturing equipment such as thin film deposition, test/measurement, PECVD, MOCVD, PVD, plasma etch tools.
- Significant experience in the preparation and use of wet chemical mixtures and their hardware in a manufacturing role.

- Must qualify to work in a Controlled Goods Zone. Training will be provided.

Relocation:
Relocation assistance will be determined in accordance with the NRC's directives.
Compensation:
From $49,298 to $69,364 per annum.

Notes:
- The incumbent will be expected to work with hazardous chemicals and materials in a clean room laboratory environment and must adhere to safe workplace practices at all times by following the established health and safety guidelines.
