About the Opportunity:


Reporting to the Director & Site Lead, the Health Services Manager is responsible for the management, planning and coordination of care activities at the Dartmouth General Hospital site, including daily operations of people-centred programs within and external to the Central Zone, Nova Scotia Health.

The Health Services Manager is responsible for providing the leadership required to engage the interdisciplinary team to address key clinical practices and utilization management in the provision of quality care throughout the continuum.

Knowledge of data information management systems is essential in reporting indicators and outcome measurements.

Essential components of this position include a high degree of expertise in decision-making, creativity, interpersonal skills, professional development, and informational roles to perform a wide variety of technical, human, conceptual, leadership, and financial management functions and behaviours.

This position also requires a high degree of initiative and change leadership skills.


About You:

We would love to hear from you if you have the following:

  • Baccalaureate Degree in Nursing
  • Masters in Nursing, Health Services Administration or Business Administration is preferred
  • Must be registered with the Nova Scotia College of Nursing (NSCN) or eligible for registration and/or registered with a health related discipline
  • Five to seven years' clinical experience
  • Previous leadership/management experience
  • Demonstrated experience in initiating and managing multiple projects
  • Experience in a unionized environment preferred
  • Ability to work collaboratively with other disciplines and committees to achieve excellence in patient care
  • Demonstrated fiscal and human resource management
  • Requires a high level of sound judgement, initiative, and selfdirection
  • Capable of analytical and creative decisionmaking
  • Demonstrates high degrees of independent decision making, selfdirection, motivation, change management knowledge and team building/leadership skills
  • Competencies in other languages an asset, French preferred

Hours:


  • Long Assignment, Fulltime (100%) position, 75 hours biweekly
  • Beginning in March for approximately 12 months
  • Travel to other sites may be required

Compensation and Incentives:

$ $56.64 hourly
