Temporary, Full-time - 35 hours / week14-month term

We are currently recruiting for a temporary, full-time Lead,
FCSS Direct Client Services for our Family and Community Support Services department.
About this opportunity:
While reporting to the Manager, Family and Community Support Services, the Lead,
FCSS Direct Client Services oversees short
- and long-range planning for the delivery of services to families and individuals experiencing personal challenges in the community. As well, this position is responsible for the overall management of the section's portfolio, which includes performance management of direct reports, develop, evaluate and report on program goals and objectives through the corporate business planning process, develop and manage applicable operating budgets, and ensure the section's directives support the
FCSS priority areas which align with the City's corporate plan. If you enjoy a fast-paced environment and working in an exciting community-based position, this is the opportunity for you.
Responsibilities of the position include, but are not limited to:
- Client Work: provide direct client service to families and other demographics
- Leadership: Supervise two to three direct reports who are also providing direct client work. This will include daily guidance, mentoring and overall and team valuation of performance.
- Data Collection and Administration: complete relevant individual and team data related to caseload and data collection
- Community Partnerships:

Qualifications:
- Degree in Social Work, Human Ecology, Psychology, or Child and Youth Care or equivalent field.
- Suicide intervention, mental health first aid and standard first aid are assets.
- Minimum five (5) years of related experience.
- Strong problem solving and decisionmaking skills.
- Experience working oneonone with individuals, parents/guardians, and children, as well as partnerships with variety of agencies and schools.
- Experience in supervision and budget management
- Experience and knowledge providing parenting strategies for all ages.
- Knowledge of mental health and addictions, crisis intervention and family violence prevention strategies across the lifespan.
- Knowledge of
FCSS Act and Regulations would be an asset. - Must be willing to provide a clean Criminal Records Check-Vulnerable Sector and Child Intervention Check, at own expense, as part of the hiring process.
