is recruiting for a Medical Information Lead in the Neurosciences & Pulmonary Hypertension Therapeutic Areas to be located in Toronto, Ontario.


Key Responsibilities:


  • Provide Scientific, Product/Therapeutic Area, and Disease State Subject Matter Expertise to Internal and External Customers
  • Develop and deliver verbal and/or written communication of researched medical/scientific information to HCPs and consumers in response to unsolicited requests.
  • Develop and execute MI business plan that summarizes marketplace dynamics & corresponding tactics, and highlights opportunities to accelerate the business.
  • Proactively develops and maintains standard local scientific responses (LSRs) and innovative assets.
  • Interpret, contextualize, and disseminate relevant, published and unpublished data to internal business partners and crossfunctional teams (e.g. Sales & Marketing, Market Access, Regulatory Affairs, Medical Affairs)
  • Analyze and evaluate voiceofcustomer data and MI trends and provide key insights and metrics to applicable internal business partners.
  • Shape and advise business strategy through active participation on crossdepartmental therapeutic meetings/processes
  • Collaborate with key external partners, (as applicable), in the management of marketplace issues as well as to optimize unsolicited medical information delivery to customers.
  • Collaborate with internal business partners on the development, review, approval, and implementation of promotional material, scientific presentations, corporate communications, and patient education projects.
  • Develops and delivers training as required to business partners, including the Medical Information Call Center (MICC), on disease and product specific knowledge and Medical Information processes and resources.
  • Identify and report adverse events and product complaints for Janssen marketed products according to internal procedures and timelines established in SOPs.
  • Generate and communicate customer insights through analysis of medical information requests (MIRs)
  • Provide Medical Information booth support at major scientific meetings.
  • Provides occasional afterhours support for emergency calls as well as legacy and promoted products in addition to back up support as needed.

Departmental Shaping and Process Excellence:


  • Develop and execute the MI launch readiness plan and actively participate on crossfunctional business teams for product launch and/or accelerated growth to ensure integration with overall brand launch readiness plan.
  • Actively contribute to departmental, local and/or global Medical Information projects that provide innovative solutions to optimize and enhance deliverables to external and internal customers.
  • Active participant in MI strategy development and implementation, as applicable.
  • Provides timely and accurate data capture in applicable MI systems; ensures data integrity.
  • Actively participates in appropriate knowledge exchange and sharing of key MI processes, lessons learned and process efficiencies.

Qualifications:


Education:


  • Bachelor's degree in Pharmacy or another healthcare profession, or a degree in Life Sciences required; advanced graduate degree a strong asset (MSc, MD, PhD, PharmD)

Relevant knowledge and experience:


  • Minimum 2 years pharmaceutical industry and/or relevant experience required
  • Demonstrated skills in leadership, critical thinking, and management of multiple priorities required
  • Experience in a Medical Information department, and/or a regional or hospital drug information centre, and/or in a healthcare setting is strongly preferred
  • Bilingualism in English and French an asset
  • Strategic approach & ability to partner with multiple stakeholders through leading without authority
  • Creative, problem solver, and innovator
  • Project Management experience and/or certification an asset
  • Familiarity with regulatory and healthcare compliance guidelines/policies
  • Ability to facilitate and teach adult learners through principles of adult learning

Technical competency requirements:


  • Proven ability to verbally communicate scientific information to HCPs
  • Able to research, interpret and translate complex scientific information into professional communications to HCPs and business partners
  • Superior attention to detail and data accuracy
  • Strong communication (verbal, written) and presentation skills
  • Proven track record to work independently and with crossfunctional teams
  • Working knowledge of relevant software programs (e.g., Microsoft Office, Adobe, Salesforce, VeevaVault, Qlik, etc.)
  • Ability to travel up to 5%, both domestic and international, based on the needs of the business
