Overview:

Pembina Pipeline Corporation's Sherwood Park office is recruiting for a Network Telecommunications Analyst to join the team. This position reports to the Supervisor, Field Communications Network Operations Centre (NOC) in the Information Services Unit (ISU).


At Pembina, it is the responsibility of the Information Services Unit to continuously improve data, security and integrity of the network from infringement, interruption and destruction of sensitive data.

Responsibilities:


Pembina's Information Services Unit recently modernized its telecommunication network and is seeking a Network Analyst with experience in telecommunications to join their team.

Located in Sherwood Park, Alberta they will report to the Supervisor of Field Communications NOC.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:

  • Participate as a team member, responsible for network management, upgrade, installation, documentation and design;
  • Providing data transport of various communications protocols and formats including IP (MPLS, TCP/IP) and serial RS232;
  • Initiate, design, document, and maintain telecommunications systems at tower sites, pipeline facilities, and data centres;
  • Manages the health, stability, and performance of network technologies and connected services;
  • Maintain documentation and reports related to network and telecommunications activities
  • Provide support to Field Communications team and to Pembina Pipeline operations;
  • Work effectively and efficiently with other OT/IS peer groups with different areas of responsibility (i

e:
OT field groups, SCADA Infrastructure, Security, IT Networks, etc.);

  • Supervise contractors, interface with service providers as required;
  • Participate and support an equitable, diverse, and inclusive workplace; and
  • On-Call rotation is required

Job Qualifications:


  • Postsecondary education from a recognized technical training institution (such as NAIT, SAIT, BCIT, etc.), Network Technology or related;
  • Nokia NRS / Cisco CCNA or CCNP required or equivalent experience;
  • Field network and/or network operations experience;
  • Progressive experience supporting enterprise and operational networking, configuring, maintaining, and troubleshooting medium to large scale networks;
  • Experience in the following technologies and protocols:
  • BGP, OSPF, STP, SNMP, SIP, VRRP;
  • Nokia Routers and Switches, SAR, SAS
  • Nokia (Alcatel-Lucent) Microwave hardware, MSS, MPR, Wavence;
  • Cisco Routers and Switches, IOS, NX-OS;
  • Nokia and Cisco Cellular devices;
  • WAN technologies MPLS, VSAT, LTE/cellular, etc.;
  • SCADA (Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition);
  • Experience with microwave and narrow band radio systems;
  • Preference given working knowledge of:
  • Network Management Tools: Solarwinds, Nokia NFM-P;
  • Microsoft Azure / Azure Networking;
  • ServiceNow;
  • Operated a highly secure network, utilizing logical segmentation and layered security design;
  • Experience working in high pressure, low downtime environments, both in maintenance and break / fix scenarios;
  • Understanding of ITIL (Information Technology Infrastructure Library) best practices;
  • Must be a selfstarter and dedicated team member;
  • Ability to multitask and respond to time constraints and deadlines;
  • Commitment to expanding knowledge and experience in the telecommunications field;
  • Must be willing to work in both office and field environments;
  • Excellent oral and written English language skills, including solid presentation skills
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and strong teamwork orientation;
  • Energetic, adaptable, and highly personable; and
  • Valid Class 5 Alberta driver's license.
