A construction labourer is responsible for performing a variety of work tasks in order to complete landscape construction projects on commercial and residential sites.

(Maybe asked to complete Landscape Maintenance Task).

The construction labourer will be required to operate a variety of tools and equipment to carry out specified job tasks.


RESPONSIBILITIES AND ACCOUNTABILITIES

  • Completing a time sheet on a daily basis


  • Work Days

  • Monday-Friday and the occasional Saturday
  • Aid in the loading and unloading of trucks and trailers
  • Conduct daily inspections on vehicles, tools, and equipment
  • Move and install soil, mulch, aggregates and plant material to assist with the construction of landscape gardens and related areas
  • Move and install hardscape materials including (but not limited to) natural stone and pavers
  • Operate power equipment including (but not limited to) line trimmers, blowers, hedge trimmers, sod cutters, stone saws and plate tampers in a safe and responsible manner
  • Operate machinery including (but not limited to) skid steers, tractors, loaders and excavators


  • Landscape Maintenance

  • Able to use all tools and equipment to perform all tasks associated with landscape maintenance
  • Operate power equipment and machinery including (but not limited to) riding lawnmowers, trimmers, sheers
  • Assist foreman in other workrelated duties including shop and yard maintenance as well as vehicle and equipment maintenance
  • Wear appropriate personal protective equipment at all times as per OHSA
  • Comply with all company policies and regulations
  • Employee Handbook and Health and Safety Manual
  • Work in accordance with all local health and safety laws and regulations
  • Communicate with customers in a polite and courteous manner
  • Flexible working hours including weekend work
  • G Driver's License or DZ
  • Provide an Abstract on request (All charges must be reported to HR Manager
  • Licensed G Class Labourer
  • On request will drive company vehicle (and trailer) to customer locations
  • Duties to be assigned

Salary:
$20.00-$23.00 per hour

Experience:

Landscape Construction: 1 year (preferred)
General Labourer: 1 year (preferred)


Licence/Certification:

  • G/G2 Driver's License (required)
