    Purpose:

    Chemetics Inc. (Worley Group) is a diversified technology company that provides design and engineering solutions to the chloralkaline, sodium chlorate, chlorine dioxide, and sulphuric acid industries worldwide. It is a Company with a 60-year history in Vancouver with diverse cultures, talents, and highly skilled professionals. Chemetics operates a specialized alloy fabrication shop in Pickering, ON.     We are currently recruiting for a Project Quality Control Inspector. Our team includes world class experts and dynamic go-getters. The Project Quality Control Inspector is a full-time position based in Pickering, ON. This role is required to work the afternoon/night shift of 2:30pm – 1:00am (Monday-Thursday) with the possibility of working overtime on Friday and/or weekends.

    Responsibilities:

  • Preparation of the Inspection and Test Plan as per project drawings, client specifications and regulatory codes.
  • Coordinate 3rd party and regulatory inspections.
  • Inspects incoming materials and engineered components to the project requirements.
  • Dimensional inspection of in-process fabrication layouts, fit-ups and as-built conditions.
  • Performs non-destructive (NDE) tests on components/welds.
  • Verifies final pressure boundary testing by the following methods: Hydrotest, Pneumatic, Soapy Water, Helium Leak Test.
  • Verifies surface preparation conditions, coating and or insulation of parts and equipment.
  • Participates in the maintenance of instrument calibration.
  • Identify, document and follow up on non-conformances and understand NCR, CAPA, RCA process as it pertains to boiler and pressure vessel quality.
  • Documentation of inspections as per the Quality Management System in preparation of the Data Package.
  • What you will bring

    Technical/Industry Experience and Qualifications Requirements:

  • QA/QC experience in the manufacture of Boiler and Pressure Vessels and/or Piping and/or Pressure Components field or graduate in Welding Technology, NDE or related discipline.
  • Working knowledge of the regulatory codes as they pertain to pressure boundary parts/equipment fabrication and inspection requirements including but not limited to the following: ASME Section VIII Div 1, B31.3.
  • Ability to understand and interpret engineering drawings.
  • Computer documentation and communication experience.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Strong interpersonal and organizational skills to work in a team environment.
  • Attention to details and high degree of accuracy.
  • Ability to work under tight time line requirements.
  • A professional attitude with the ability to work independently.
  • Available to work flexible hours and overtime as required to meet business needs.
  • Individuals with experience and course background will be considered.
  • Education – Qualifications, Accreditation, Training:

    Required:

  • NDE certification to CGSB standards in one or more of the following PT, MT, UT, PMI.
  • Welding Inspection certification to Weld Inspection or AWS standards.
