About the role


We're looking for an
Casualty Claims Representative II to help get our customers back on track, so they can focus on what matters to them most.


This opportunity can be based in any of the following locations: Dartmouth NS/Moncton NB/St John's NL.

What you'll do here:


As a
Casualty Claims Representative II, you will be responsible for investigating and examining minor and moderately complex auto and non-auto liability claims to ensure prompt and fair settlement.

Your natural ability to negotiate, influence, prioritize, be proactive and think creatively on your feet will help you thrive in our collaborative and energetic culture.

Here are a few of the ways you'll make a difference:


  • Investigate, analyze, evaluate, quantify and report on minor and moderately complex auto and nonauto bodily injury and general liability claims.
  • Review, analyze and interpret insurance policy wordings to determine coverage and liability positions in response to various claim scenarios.
  • Independently conduct thorough and detailed liability and damage assessment investigations and implement action plans, as needed, to appropriately develop, reserve, negotiate and settle claims.
  • Ability to independently manage claims through the litigation process while effectively working with other adjusters, experts, legal counsel, mediators and court personnel.
  • Employ advanced negotiation skills and knowledge to efficiently and promptly settle claims in person and via courts proceedings, mediations or settlement meetings.
  • Develop knowledge of insurance case law and regulatory changes in all Atlantic provinces.

What you bring to the table:

  • Strong analytical skills, detail-oriented and organized.
  • Effective communication and negotiation with third parties directly or their lawyers.
  • Minimum of 12 years of claim experience handling auto and nonauto physical damage, bodily injury and/or general liability claims.
  • Ability to multitask and juggle competing priorities.
  • Completed or actively working towards completion of the CIP designation.
  • A college diploma or a university degree is a strong asset.
  • Bilingualism is considered a definite asset.
  • Advanced knowledge of the insurance legislative framework in all Atlantic provinces.
