We are looking for a Manager, Asset Performance, Standards and Equipment to lead both the Transmission & Distribution Asset Performance Maintenance and Standard and Equipment teams.


The Maintenance team is responsible for providing strategic planning and directing asset maintenance programs to ensure timely and cost-effective delivery.

Establish long-term objectives, measures, and targets for the operating plan based on the corporate strategy.


The Equipment and Standards team is responsible for leading and providing strategic planning and guidance to develop standards and specifications for design, construction, material, and equipment to drive consistent and reliable design and function.


The Manager works closely with ENMAX Power leadership team and stakeholders to define a safe and reliable system and build a culture of sustainable risk-based asset management.


Major Responsibilities:

  • Lead a diverse team of Engineers, Technologists, and Analysts responsible for ensuring standards and performance of assets are managed and executed in accordance with industry best practices and adhere to compliance and codes, defining equipment specifications, operating parameters, commissioning, testing, and performing root cause analysis of equipment failures.
  • Ensure T&D Asset Management strategy processes are streamlined, efficient, and in accordance with industry best practices (e.g., ISO 55000 or equivalent) including advancement opportunities to leverage future technologies and move towards conditionbased maintenance. Ensure development and implementation of Protection System and automatic Reclosing (PRC005) and Vegetation Management plans for transmission (FAC003) in accordance with Alberta Reliability Standards.
  • Advance strategy, process, and programs to support the management and development of design/construction and material/equipment specifications.
  • Establish longterm equipment supply contracts and work with Supply Chain to develop requirement procurement strategies including Total Cost of Ownership for T&D equipment.
  • Ensure permits and circulation from City of Calgary are reviewed in a timely manner.
  • Support Asset Analytics in the development of asset health indices and asset criticality values. Leverage data and analytics to endorse justification and conditionbased maintenance.
  • Champion ENMAX power system reliability, safety, and environmental needs such as hazards and encroachment.
  • Oversee T&D Maintenance and budget and ensure system maintenance plans are executed in a timely and costeffective manner. Work in partnership with Field Services leadership and internal stakeholders to execute this work.
  • Establish and maintain strong positive relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Champion, prioritize, and monitor changes to business processes and systems, technology, job roles, and initiatives within the team.

Education Required:

  • A degree in Electrical Engineering and registered Professional Engineer or Professional Licensee with the Association of Professional Engineers and Geoscientists of Alberta (APEGA).

Qualifications & Experience:
years relevant industry experience- Experience leading a technical team within the utility setting- Expertise in the area of equipment maintenance strategy for Transmission, Substation, Distribution and Network- Knowledge with EPC standards and specifications- Proficiency in CMMS product such as Maximo- Experience in Cost of Service and Performance-Based Regulation- Knowledge of managing multi-million dollar annual OM&A budgets

  • Ability to develop sound business cases and identify business process improvements.
  • Ability to lead multidiscipline staff to handle emergency situations.
  • Proven ability to develop and strengthen customer relationships; identify and effectively manage all important stakeholder relationships.
  • Knowledge of factory acceptance testing and field commissioning procedures for transmission, distribution and network equipment.
