Through continual upgrades, Patriot Forge has been able to enhance our manufacturing capabilities to better serve the needs of our ever evolving customer base.

We are currently recruiting for a Business Development Manager to join our team


This position is responsible for establishing a new customer base as well as expanding the value offered to the current customer base.

The incumbent works to develop new product offerings through collaboration with the inside sales team and plant leaders, while assisting in the streamlining and continuous improvement of Patriot's sales and quoting processes.


Responsibilities:


  • Manages the outside sales force providing direction and support where needed
  • Manages the outside sales rep agreements together with the Inside Sales Manager and the President
  • Analyses market information, liaising with customers and market analysts to gather industry data, planning information and opinions
  • Able to deliver effective sales presentations to influence favorable decisions, and manage the company's participation at trade shows and corporate events
  • Identifies and reports on opportunities for new markets or new product offerings into existing markets
  • Liaise with Quality, Metallurgy, and Process Engineering to identify requirements for new product lines or market segments
  • Provide quarterly progress reports on open projects
  • Identify and report on associated risks with new or current markets
  • Represents the organization to promote its products or negotiate with industry associations, current or prospective customers essential to the firm's growth, diversification or economic soundness
  • Develops higherlevel relationships with current and potential customers including some travel to customer sites
  • Provide assistance for effective liaison with internal teams regarding product or delivery issues
  • Ensure customer satisfaction through timely follow up on quotes and sales
  • Works with technical staff to assist in the continual improvement of outside sales processes with an aim to develop new sales opportunities
  • Keep abreast of changing manufacturing processes in order to promote accurate capabilities
  • Keep informed of industry news, competitor activities
  • Assist in quoting and other tasks as required to manage load in inside sales

Experience/Skills/Education:

  • Degree in Engineering or Business Administration with a specialization in Sales, Marketing or Metallurgy
  • 5+ year of experience at a project management or departmental management level with exposure to business in the US
  • Strong negotiating skills, demonstrated high level of initiative, as well as exceptional problem solving and analytical skills
  • Proven experience in developing strong, longlasting and trusting relationships with customers
  • Experience in the forging, nuclear, military or power generation industry is a definite asset as would working knowledge of various steel and alloy material chemistries
  • Must have good people skills and effective phone manner and excellent communication skills, written and verbal
  • Must be motivated to excel
