- Civil and Municipal design for rail projects including freight, passenger, commuter, and light rail;
- Design for grading & drainage, Utility protection and/or relocation, roads, parking lots, and staging design;
- Preparation of drawings and quantity take-off's;
- Design of track and railway infrastructure in accordance with applicable regulations, laws, standards, etc. Typically used standards include AREMA, TCRP, CN, CP, Mx & EN.
- Producing and checking a wide variety of track designs, grading models, DTM surface and applicable details;
- Collects and analyzes data under the supervision of an experienced engineer.
- Uses computer software as a tool for solving basic engineering problems.
- Being able to work with LIDAR point clouds, manage, verify and control surveys and geographic data for design needs;
- Utilize and maintain technical databases and file structures within project files;
- Work with tight schedules, be flexible, and contribute in a high performing design team;
- Proposal and Project assignments may include Commuter, Subway, Light Rail, Heavy Rail, Transit Storage and Maintenance Facilitates & Inter-modal terminals.
