    One of our leading clients in the food manufacturing industry seeking the following:

    POSITION: Production Manager - FOOD INDUSTRY
    STATUS: 6 month contract
    LOCATION: North York, ON

    Reporting into the Plant Manager, the Production Director is responsible to lead and mentor the production team to drive performance. He/she ensures quality production is delivered on time and budget while ensuring a safe work environment.

    More specifically, the Production Director

    · Develops and supports the team (Material Planner, Manpower planner and production supervisors) with respect to the manufacturing process and personnel management while promoting good relations among employees.

    · Ensures that all EH&S and quality standards are met at the plant day in day out.

    · Establishes and implements data driven improvement plans, reducing non-conformities, improving performance to meet or exceed expectations.

    · Manages production operations to meet the KPIs in the strategic plan.

    · Acts as a change agent to instill a culture of performance.

    · Develops a talented, capable & engaged team. Builds technical and behavioural capabilities across all levels.

    · Partners effectively with all multi-functional peers, both internal and external, to deliver KPI and strategic goals.

    · Is responsible for a non-stop 24/7 operating environment.

    Requirements

    · Bachelor or college degree in operation, engineering or relative field.

    · Strong Servant Leadership skills. Strategic thinker to help develop the 5 year plan.

    · Skilled communicator with an ability to mobilize teams to carry out change.

    · Knowledge in continuous improvement methodologies and in problem solving techniques.

    · At least 5 years experience in a key managerial role in a unionized environment.

    · Eight years experience in food manufacturing (preferably FMCG).

    · Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Food Science, or a related field.

    · Thorough knowledge of the SQF code, HACCP, GMPs and food-safety regulations.

    · Proficiency with MS Office.
