JOB DESCRIPTION


As the Manager of Business Affairs, you will play a key role in managing and administering business matters related to Pier 21's television productions and parent company.

The production responsibilities span the lifecycle of the project from initial development to close out/audit and on-going reporting.


KEY RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE:


  • Negotiating and drafting of talent, including writers, directors, producers and crew contracts.
  • Negotiating and drafting of exploitation and rights agreements.
  • Tracking and managing of development costs and payments and option dates and payments.
  • Managing set up of production companies and other corporate matters.
  • Setting up and managing adherence to unions and guilds, E&O clearances and insurance.
  • Utilizing precedents and contract templates and communicating and distilling business, regulatory and financial deal points to management, legal counsel, and production teams, as required.
  • Coordinating and overseeing bank loan documentation, funding requests, and tracking of deliverables and milestone payments/invoicing.
  • Collaborating closely with production teams to ensure compliance with industry standards and contractual requirements.
  • Keeping abreast of industry trends, regulations, and best practices to ensure the company's continued success.
  • Liaising with external legal counsel and other industry professionals as needed.

THE IDEAL CANDIDATE

  • Minimum 35 years' experience working in a business affairs capacity within the film and tv industry.
  • University degree.
  • Must be proficient in Microsoft Office (i.e. Outlook, Excel, Word, etc.).
  • Ability to work with mínimal supervision and take initiative.
  • Must have excellent time management skills, strong organizational skills and the ability to multitask and prioritize work.
  • Must have the ability to work under pressure and to tight deadlines.
  • Must have excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Must be a team player and have a positive attitude.

From $80,000.00 per year
