Youth Programs Coordinator In this role, you will be responsible for coordinating all aspects of camp programming including: interviewing, on-boarding, and evaluating program delivery staff; developing, implementing and evaluating content designed to inspire conservation action; liaising with internal departments to ensure exceptional experiences for camp audiences; researching and stewarding relationships with external organizations to integrate complementary programming; respond to customer inquiries.

What you will do:
- Research, develop, present, and evaluate nonformal educational programming
- Interview and onboard summer camp staff and youth volunteers
- Provide day to day supervision of summer camp team, coordinate scheduling, evaluation and offboarding
- Demonstrate and encourage enthusiasm, flexibility and collaborative approaches in an environment with lots of change
- Work with multiple internal teams to develop programming materials, schedule programming components and monitor day to day delivery
- Meet budget targets, coordinate inventory procurement and tracking
- Work with external community partners to source and implement complementary programming to elevate camper experience and meet program mission goals
What you will bring:
- Bachelor's Degree in Education, Environmental Studies, Natural Science, Recreation, or a related discipline
- 3 to 5 years' experience working with children or in a related role
- Knowledge of and experience with environmental education, conservation education and experiential learning is an asset
- A keen interest in conservation and the natural world is essential
- Experience in the areas of coaching and performance appraisal
- Experience with technology and alternative delivery options is an asset
- Innovative and resourceful with exceptional written and verbal communications skills
Other Requirements:
- Current first aid certificate
- Class 5 Driver's License
Working Conditions:
- Long periods of time on feet, considerable amount of walking
- Working outside in all weather conditions
- Ability to lift items up to 30 lbs, pull and push wagons
The Wilder Institute/Calgary Zoo is an outdoor facility and all staff working at the zoo must be comfortable working in a large variety of outdoor conditions.
