The City of Abbotsford is currently offering an exciting opportunity for a self-motivated and driven professional to join our team as in the role of IT Infrastructure Specialist. Reporting to the Manager, IT Systems this role is pivotal in maintaining, optimizing, and securing our IT systems, providing the technical backbone for the operations. This role is a vital member of the Information Technology team to help the organization improve the quality, accuracy, efficiency and responsiveness of City services and achieve Council's vision for the City " be the Hub of the Fraser Valley."
The IT Infrastructure Specialist will be responsible for increasing the in-house IT Infrastructure management and support capacity of the City and aims to address various gaps identified within the current IT Infrastructure team.
Working with other IT staff members and consultants, the Specialist leads projects and plays a crucial role in optimizing IT infrastructure, supporting projects, and ensuring compliance with global technology changes and security controls and will be involved with designing and supporting the City's Information Technology (IT) infrastructure; this includes networks, servers, storage, internet connectivity, corporate e-mail and backup and recovery solutions.
Additionally, will be responsible for the provision, sustainment, design, and implementation of highly technical solutions that support organizational strategy and business goals. Along with supporting, coaching and guiding the IT Systems team to determine effective technology solutions to address business needs and provide operational support for the City's IT infrastructure, you will develop enterprise standards and administers the City's IT systems to ensure they are maintained and in compliance with those standards.
