With a team of experienced lawyers, legal assistants, and over 10 locations the firm offers a diverse range of legal services, capable of handling various legal matters in Southern Alberta.

North & Company LLP is looking for a
Legal Assistant to join our Coaldale team. This is a full-time (35 hours per week) position.


Job Duties

  • Assist lawyers in the preparation and filing of legal documents.
  • Conduct legal research and compile relevant information.
  • Manage and organize case files and documentation.
  • Schedule appointments, and meetings for lawyers.
  • Draft and proofread legal correspondence and documents.
  • Communicate with clients, opposing counsel, and court personnel.
  • Maintain confidentiality of sensitive information.
  • Perform general administrative tasks to support the legal team.

Qualifications

  • Legal Administrative Assistant and/or Paralegal Diploma would be an asset;
  • 2 years legal assistant experience would be an asset;
  • Ability to handle a varied workload;
  • Strong computer skills including proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite;
  • Previous experience working with ProLaw, and Lawyer Done Deal software system would be an asset;
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills;
  • Able to prioritize tasks and work efficiently under pressure.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to work effectively with other staff and professionals.
